And, while I LOVE it, OMG, I'll never get to work today.

The freeways are going to be an utter MESS!!!

EEEEEEEK!

Everybody ready for a new week?

It sounds very, VERY wet around here. I think it's been POURING since around 1:00 AM.

Anybody got anything big planned for the week?

I'm hoping to hear about the job I've been interviewing for by tomorrow. Of course, they haven't been super fast in making any decisions after the last three interviews, so it could be later in the week before I hear anything.

So, excuse me if I start getting antsy about it, please. :)

I don't think I've asked in a while. What's everybody working on writing-wise these days? Novels? Short stories? Want to toot your own horn and talk about your current project?

I love to hear what other people are working on.

The long commute plus some bouts with low confidence have damaged my ability to churn out many words at a time, but I think I'm going to hit my 31,000 word goal for the month.

I'd still love to get the new opening finished for Out of the Darkness so I can work on editing the entire novel. I just need to get my focus clear and WORK!

I don't know if I'll move straight along to finish Xanali after that, or if I'll go back to editing Ancient Secrets or Beyond the Darkness next.

I have to get to work on my screenplays too...some revising and polishing and two more that I want to get written.

Fortunately, screenplays, because of their length and structure, are a much faster write than novels.

Decisions...decisions...

Hope everyone has a great Monday and a wonderful week!

EDIT: Oh, and I'm going to be celebrating turning 50 on Thursday, so I'm going to be taking the day off. Only four days to work this week and the long weekend coming up!!! HOORAY!

I get three more chances to query screenplays, and have the queries read (for those of you not familiar with screenplay queries, you're not guaranteed that cold queries are even looked at in the entertainment industry). And, these are really good opportunities, so I'm excited.

The first is with the production company that almost bought Atonement three and a half years ago, I think it was. Different exec. Maybe I'll try it again. Maybe something new.

The second is with a literary manager who used to be an agent with William Morris!

The third is with Disney and I have an idea I've been sitting on for a while with thoughts of turning it into a YA novel series that I think I'll develop as a screenplay to submit to them instead. Bounced it off my sister and she thinks it would make a perfect screenplay to query to them.

So, Looks like June is going to be a busy month for screenwriting and querying. That'll be exciting. Good way to start the summer!

It's strange, but I have a lot more confidence when it comes to writing and querying screenplays. Maybe because I've had minor success in that arena before?

But, I can't say anything about them yet. Perhaps in a few more days. :)

Cracked open MMS2K (Movie Magic Screewriter 2000, my screenwriting software of choice) tonight to start The Magic Cauldron. Didn't get much done. Too tired. Not enough sleep last night. Too much driving today. Too much work stuff.

Well, two more days and then I get a day off. Then one day of work after that until the long weekend. HOORAY!

Sci Fi Channel is having a Godzilla/monster movie marathon on Friday, to make things even better. My daughter is going to record it for me while I work and I can watch it over the weekend. I'm a sucker for Godzilla movies.

Working on self-confidence and being positive. Working on plotting...in head. Only time to scribble a few notes on actual paper.

More time on Thursday when I'm off work.

Right now, I'm going to work on sleeping. Very tired.

Good night, Live Journal.
