I don't know why, but the day after I get a request for a partial or a screenplay or any kind of interest in my work, I shift from excitement to PANIC!

Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited, too, and the excitement will come back as soon as I print out the screenplay and take another proofreading, looking over it pass before I send it out. (Yes, I do that with EVERYTHING...just in case...no matter how many times it's been proofread and looked over.)

But, for now, I have that panic, too.

The panic is scary.

I think panic is natural. Go have a bubble bath and your drink of choice.

So says I. ;)

The panic is because someone actually has to see something now.

It's easy to be all bright and shiny about your work until someone asks to see it - then it's "Put Up or Shut Up" time, and you panic that maybe what you wrote ISN'T as bright and shiny as you made it out to be.

It's normal. Send it on and be done with it.
