Do You Ever Dream...
Jan. 21st, 2006 06:44 amFrom the POV of the characters you're writing?
I used to do it lots. Usually, it's from the character I've been writing the longest and who appears in many of my novels, Lilliana.
In the current novel I'm writing, Lilliana is just a child.
However, last night I had a most wonderful dream from her POV and it has stayed with me even since I woke. Very sensory, very detailed, very emotional.
It involved her and three other characters that I write about a lot and actually contained a couple of damn good ideas for stories!
Dig it!
Last night was a very good night for dreams, which means that brain is pretty much on the happy side this morning, even if the rest of me is cold and wants to go back to sleep. :)

Date: 2006-01-21 03:18 pm (UTC)i've only once ever dreamed about a character (who i saw through a window at a 31 flavors ice cream parlor in the middle of a smelting field surrounded by barbed wire) ~ and it was a very abstract, disconnected dream. i've never dreamed of being a character or actually speaking to one.
i once dreamed a brilliant episode of the X-files start to finish. when i woke up, i wanted to write it down and write a spec script, but it eluded me when i picked up a pen and was lost forever.
good luck incorporating your dream!
