Awesome, Dudes!
Jan. 2nd, 2006 02:23 pmWe have the most amazing weather today. All windy and blustery and POURING down rain. Not your typical SoCal New Year's type weather. (Neither was yesterday, but this is much more intense.)
It's very dark outside and the trees have been thrashing around all day. The rain ebbs and flows, but sometimes, it sounds like someone has turned the shower on full blast and left it.
I opened my bedroom window just so I could enjoy the sound and smell of the rain. It's awesome.
I've had a beautiful, lovely, wonderful lazy rainy day today.
This morning, at breakfast, I planned out what I want to write, edit, and submit for the year, in what order. Maybe I'll type that in later.
This afternoon, I watched a re-broadcast of the Tournament of Roses and ate hot dogs with my daughter. (My oldest son is in the living room teaching my youngest how to write a speech for the Academic Decathlon. Since he--my oldest--is the school's assistant coach, it's his responsibility.)
And, I've been writing. I only lack maybe 30 words of having my target word count for the day, which is nice, but, since I'm enjoying my last day off before going back to work, I've allowed myself to work on several different projects instead of focusing on Xanali.
However, what's cool is that the sections I worked on in what I wrote actually refers back to sections I'm getting ready to write in Xanali, so this is probably a good warm-up and I'm not going to complain.
Also, one of the novels is one I have hopes of completing this year so...I'll never complain about words. It's always nice to have them.
I think I'm going to go crash with one of the cats for a few, and just listen to the rain. I sure do love it.

Date: 2006-01-04 03:20 am (UTC)I'd love a little rain. Isn't it funny, one place will have a drought, another will be flooding.

Date: 2006-01-03 03:17 am (UTC)We had a bit of thunder out here. Not much. I wasn't near the window, so I didn't get to see the lightning. Bummer. :(
Is it still raining down there? The bottom just dropped out again here. But, alas, it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow, isn't it?
Did you have a good New Years?

Date: 2006-01-03 03:27 am (UTC)I did have a good New Year's thanks. I spent it with Soooze and her son Jackson up in Santa Barbara. It rained constantly for 2 days up there. It was wonderful. Though it made the trip home a bit of an adventure. :-)
