The Annual End of Daylight Savings Time

You know, I always love it when Daylight Savings Time ends cause we get back that hour we lost in the spring.

Woo-hoo!

I am sooooo looking forward to getting an extra hour of sleep tonight!

House Cleaning...or, Rather...Novel Cleaning

I decided this morning that I needed to have a way to present my novel universe in a clear and concise manner.

There are some changes going on in the story and structure of a few of the novels. Changes that reach forward and backward into the timeline that's covered in the universe.

These changes are necessitated by the fact that my writing has grown quite a bit since some of them were started. That, and the fact that I'm looking at my work with new vision. I expect a lot more from it now. I expect to put a lot more into it now.

I haven't found a format that I like to present a total overview of the universe, so, for now, I think I'm just going to set up files for each series in the universe and post synopses of each there. Some have them already. Others need them.

But, in the meantime, I do have the universe set up in a series of folders in Word. I went through them today, looking to see what novels to keep and what to put out to pasture.

Those that were mere shells with no words now, I deleted. I'll re-use the titles later. Some have been consolidated. Ultimately, I'll move the old files into a separate folder for derelicts and scene clips.

It's nice to houseclean like this and actually look back over some of the novels I have to complete. Sometimes, it's hard not to drop everything and pick one of them back up and work on it...or add a couple of pages to each of them.

But, I have a more specific plan for writing them now...certain novels in certain series that must be finished first...and I'd really like to stick with that.

If I don't, I have no focus or direction and won't complete anything in a timely fashion.

Going to rest for a few. I'm kinda wiped from the week.

Then I need to send a response on the notes I got on the screenplay and I need to work on some editing and then some writing.

Oh, and plotting for my NaNo project. There are only a few days left. I must make a definite determination which project I'm going to write.

About time, huh?

Everybody Having a Great Day?

I've been working on a lot of plotting this afternoon.

I've solved a lot of problems, come up with a lot of ideas, and come up with even more questions that I need to decide on answers for.

However, sometimes, they solve themselves. Once I release them, my brain seems to work on them in background mode until it finds a solution.

I still haven't decided what I want to work on for NaNoWriMo. I'm really drawn toward my new idea, City of Fallen Stars, but I'm more familiar with some of the ideas that I want to scrap what I've written and start over on.

They would be much easier to plot.

With overtime at work and the fact that I'll be working on a screenplay rewrite for a second set of notes, I think I might have to opt to make it easy on myself for NaNo.

But, we'll see.

I still have three days to plot and if I have a really good feel for the new idea, I'll go with it.

Darkness Falls

I don't know whether this movie did well in the box office or not. It's been three years since it was in theaters.

But, I really enjoy it. It's very creepy without being filled with blood and gore.

manga_queen and I watched it this afternoon.

It's not shown much any more, so I was thrilled to discover it was on today and tomorrow.

I love creepy. There's not enough creepy in the movie world today.

I think I've almost convinced manga_queen to write for NaNo this year.
