Well, at least I didn't wake up sweating in bed! That's an improvement.

It's only SUPPOSED to be 88 today. I hope that's going to happen, but it was supposed to be cooler a lot of days and wasn't.

We have a nice cloud cover this morning, though, and it's not sweltering in here, so I'm hopeful.

Is the heat breaking for any of you folks?

Eeek, it's 6:30.

I must go get ready so I can grab breakfast and some writing time before I go to work.

Anybody up to anything fun this weekend?

You folks have a GREAT day!!!

[livejournal.com profile] manga_queen!

I'm pimping my daughter's new LJ!

She's been around LJ for a while, but has pretty much stuck with her friends and acquaintances.

She's out to meet new folks now with a new LJ, which often features her anime/manga artwork. I recommended a few of you to her as people who were into anime/manga/video games and read/write the types of books she reads, so she might have friended you already.

However, if you're looking for another friend for your FL and you're into anime, manga, video games, drawing and art, vampires, fantasy, Rachel Caine books, Jim Butcher books, Anne McCaffery books, Photoshop and graphic arts, icon-making, etc., you might check her LJ out. (Yes, she even writes, too.)

Her drawings are all friendslocked and I can't wait to see how they grow and change once she starts the art classes in the fall.

What makes me sick is how she can whip out a drawing in 30-45 minutes, while I have to struggle an entire day just to draw something that doesn't look like scribbling.

Welcome, Amanda!

And, no, it's not contagious.

I have an idea I can work with for my screenplay.

Ever since I discarded the original plot about a week ago, I've struggled to come up with something I really liked, but that I thought had a good chance of working out well, too.

I went through a couple of ideas that I plotted out and thought were okay, but they just didn't have the heart I wanted. They didn't touch me the way I wanted. I couldn't get 100% excited about them.

Until yesterday, when I started getting images from some really cool scenes...scenes that made me really want to commit them to words.

From there, a sense of the story grew. A sense of adventure, a sense of daring. And, I was hooked.

Last night, I dreamed. Not about the story, but it apparently refreshed my brain enough that this morning, the sense of adventure had grown.

And, by the time I got to Coco's for breakfast, I sat down and wrote out a rough synopsis, complete with notes and questions before breakfast was over.

Hooray!

I think this idea will work.

Now, I may run into trouble when I actually write out a scene list tonight, but we'll see. At least the idea is much better and perhaps even a little more ambitious than anything I've previously written.

I think I'm changing the name of the screenplay, too. And, of course, because I'm so excited about it, I'll probably novelize it too.

It's nice to be excited again. :)
