I've Got One!
Jul. 29th, 2006 03:29 pmAnd, no, it's not contagious.
I have an idea I can work with for my screenplay.
Ever since I discarded the original plot about a week ago, I've struggled to come up with something I really liked, but that I thought had a good chance of working out well, too.
I went through a couple of ideas that I plotted out and thought were okay, but they just didn't have the heart I wanted. They didn't touch me the way I wanted. I couldn't get 100% excited about them.
Until yesterday, when I started getting images from some really cool scenes...scenes that made me really want to commit them to words.
From there, a sense of the story grew. A sense of adventure, a sense of daring. And, I was hooked.
Last night, I dreamed. Not about the story, but it apparently refreshed my brain enough that this morning, the sense of adventure had grown.
And, by the time I got to Coco's for breakfast, I sat down and wrote out a rough synopsis, complete with notes and questions before breakfast was over.
Hooray!
I think this idea will work.
Now, I may run into trouble when I actually write out a scene list tonight, but we'll see. At least the idea is much better and perhaps even a little more ambitious than anything I've previously written.
I think I'm changing the name of the screenplay, too. And, of course, because I'm so excited about it, I'll probably novelize it too.
It's nice to be excited again. :)
