I love my new cell phone. The fact that I got it for free with my new family plan is an extra added bonus.
(I'll save my rant against Sprint for another time, but my new plan has 4 phones (all FREE), instead of 2 and is $50 less per month for camera phones and MANY more perks than Sprint, who was always charging me bogus charges and was sucky the entire two years I had them.)
Anyway...
My youngest son has already discovered a million and one features on the phones that I didn't realize they had when I bought them.
Last night, he demonstrated how to take a picture and save it as wallpaper on the phone. (I can think of sooo many uses for this.)
This morning, after we had breakfast (it was just him and me...other two stayed home today...so we ate at Denny's), he recorded the Final Fantasy Advent Children version of One Winged Angel on my phone and saved it as a ringtone for me.
We'll have to re-record it when we get home cause it picked up road noise, but I'm just enamored of the fact that I can create my own ringtones now...and even if the One Winged Angel ringtone has road noise, it's still One Winged Angel and I think that's awesome.

Looking Back on February
Mar. 1st, 2006 07:51 amBleh to February!
I'm going to blow it one final raspberry and then forget about it.
February was NOT the month for me.
So, onward and upward. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. We learn from our mistakes. Blah, blah, blah.
Anyway...I failed miserably on my February goals, but that's okay. I'll pick myself up and do better in March.
Woot! Hooray for March.
Here's the stats:
Goal:
Write 2,225 words/day for a total of 62,300 words for the month.
Reality:
I only finished 50,312 words for the month. I bombed out on this goal.
Goal:
Work on the novel, Xanali.
Reality:
I worked on it some. So, I guess I met this goal.
Goal:
Complete the novel, Pawns of Destiny as part of
olympic_writers.
Reality:
I finished almost 75% of this novel, so I bombed out on this goal.
Goal:
Edit (first pass) novella, Beyond the Darkness.
Reality:
I edited a little on Beyond the Darkness, but I actually spent more editing time on Wildfire since I'm trying to increase the word count on it. So, I guess, technically, I bombed this goal, too.
Goal:
One crit/review for each of the four groups I belong to.
Reality:
I only managed to submit to two of the groups.
I submitted one to
original_beta.
I submitted two critiques to Critters.
I read material for Quill N Ink, but didn't submit.
I read material for OWW, but I don't think I submitted any reviews for February. I don't think. I'll have to check.
However, I did send out two e-mail queries in February. Haven't had time to hear back yet, but not holding breath.
So, submission stats year-to-date look like this:
Short stories: 1
Novel Queries: 2
So, there you have it. I was almost a complete failure for the month of February, but I'm still ahead on my year-to-date word count goal, so I don't guess I'll cry about it. :)
I'll just pick up and do better in March.

Looking Forward to March
Mar. 1st, 2006 08:59 amI am sooo looking forward to March.
Happy March everyone!!!
March brings us Saint Patrick's Day.
March brings us Spring.
March brings me the 10th anniversary of leaving my husband!!! Hooray!!! (Yes, it IS something to celebrate. I have children that are alive and well and prospering because of that act.)
March also brings...
::drumroll::
More goals!!!
Are we surprised?
No. Janice does not thrive without goals.
So...
Goals for February:
Write 2,300 words per day, for a grand total of 71,300 for the month.
(IF I'm industrious, I'd like to make up for the words I missed in February, but I'm not setting that as a goal. It would just be nice.)
Finish edits on Wildfire, which includes adding an additional 30,000 words and doing another run-through edit.
Finish Pawns of Destiny.
Work on Xanali and/or possible prequel to Out of the Darkness.
Query three more agents.
Submit at least one critique/review for each of the groups I belong to.
Hmm. I think that's it.
