Easier Than I Thought...
May. 10th, 2005 06:05 amWhich is always a nice surprise.
Had to give Kero his meds this morning. TWO pills actually. A long one and a round one. Not too big, but not tiny either.
So, we tried the easy way first. Mixing it up with kitty goodies. But, of course, he smelled it and didn't eat it during any of our attempts to bribe him.
So, we had to do it the hard way. He squirmed and wasn't happy about it, but I managed to get him to take them both without spitting them out. (I made him swallow before I let go.)
So, maybe this won't be so bad after all. (I was envisioning him spitting them out ten times before I could actually make one stay down.)
He has to have one pill twice a day and the other one once every other day.
And, from the shots yesterday, I can already tell a big difference in him. He appears to be feeling some better already.
HOORAY!!!!!
Go kitty Kero!

Date: 2005-05-11 07:15 am (UTC)I laugh in sympathy. Mine (Navi, of course) has an uncanny ability to LOOK like she's swallowed the pill and maintain the pretense for about half an hour before spitting in out whole (but slimy). Even when the vet fed it to her! We got her home and let her out of the carry-cage thingy only to hear something rattling around in there...low and behold, slimy pill.
Love the smart kitties!
