Tiny little frogs. Maybe 3/4 of an inch long. Some not that long.

Teeeeeeny little things. Jumping around at work. Hee.

I had to rescue one from the parking lot today so it wouldn't get run over. It was right outside my car door when I opened it. I put it in the grass where it would be safe.

They found three or four INSIDE yesterday and put them out. I had heard rumors of these mysterious little frogs, but doubted they were as small as everyone said.

They were TINY. Microscopic frogs!!!

Now, the REAL mystery is...where did they come from? We haven't a river or a pond nearby and the flood control channel, which had water most of the winter, is probably at least a mile or more away.

Hmm.....a mystery.

But, a CUTE mystery.

Yes, yes, I'm pathetic. And, easily amused. Tell me something I don't know. :)

My brother had some of those every spring at his place--well, more than some. Bunches and bunches. The kids would spend hours catching the 'peepers' as we called them.

It also made crossing the yard an adventure. The last thing you ever wanted to sense was a peeper underfoot.

Could you see them jumping up and down in the yard?

I used to catch little frogs when I was growing up in Tennessee. This is the first time I've seen tiny ones in California, though. I guess it's all the rain we had this year.
