I'm in B-flick heaven.

Latest fare?

Gamera: Guardian of the Universe!

I hardly ever see this on, so I was surprised to see one of the movie channels showing it.

I dig Gamera. Actually, I just dig almost any of the Japanese monster movies.

I loved them as a kid, along with all the black and white SF movies, so I'm sure that's why I grew up loving SF and Fantasy so much.

That's right...

Blame it all on Godzilla. :)

Best buy has an exclusive 5 pack DVD with Tarantula, The Incredible Shrinking Man, The Mole People, The Monolith Monsters, and Monster on Campus. All very good transfers from Universal. There's a free Battlestar Galactica: The Story So Far DVD in it.

I received a Gamera two-pack DVD for Christmas.

Gotta love big rubber monsters with bad voice tracks!

Go, Go, Godzilla!

How cool! Which two movies did it have in it?

I know. There's something about them that makes it impossible NOT to watch, isn't there?

I love Japanese monster movies.

Have you seen the original Japanese version of Godzilla (aka Gojira)? It just came out on DVD a few months ago, and it's worth seeing--it's very different from the US version. It's a much more serious film.

No, I haven't, but now that you've mentioned it, I'm going to go on a quest for it.

I'd love to see it!

I love Gammera too, but the Great Gray Radioactive Lizard is still my favorite.

All of my kids are Goji fans -- including little Vicky, who has a large stuffed Goji as one of her favorite toys. (Along with FMA's Edward Elric)

Oh, I love Godzilla the best, too...though Mothra runs a close second. I love all the more recent Mothra movies with more focus on the faeries LOTS.

I'm jealous of the big stuffed Gojira! (I have a character who has one in one of my novels, LOL.)

Buy a Goji! There's several places that sell stuffed Goji, Mothra, Etc. huggable toys.

The newer Mothra movies were definitely more kiddie-friendly. My favorite Goji movie of the more recent vintage, though, was Gojira Tai Megaguirus. That one kicked ass, had a great soundtrack, and the absolute coolest weapon ever in a movie.

It would be a good fight, absolutely. But my Godzilla would win the day. LOL....

I'd prefer...

... a Goji-Gammera TEAM-UP.

And "Gojira Tai Megaguirus" gives a perfect excuse to arrange it. You have the Dimension Tide Cannon open up a rift through which Goji drops...

... right into the scene at the end of the last Gammera film. Where Gammera looked to be in Really Deeeeep DooDoo.

In drops Goji, already pissed as hell, and what does he see? Hundreds of annoying flying things, just like he had to toast a little while ago!
