I got off work early yesterday...couldn't believe it. It was only an hour early, but gosh, you'd be amazed how much difference even an hour makes! (Especially when you don't have to work OT!)

By the time it was 6:30, it felt like so much later cause I'm not even used to getting home until 6:30 since I have to work late some nights.

I watched Karas: The Prophecy and while I know lots of folks think it makes no sense, I'm quite enamored of it. I'd seen only a few minutes of the ending before and while I missed the very beginning last night, I love the story, I love the animation, I love the touches of CGI, especially when Karas is in his armor and is the guardian.

Since I didn't get into the movie early enough to tape, I searched Amazon to see if it was available as a DVD, and was surprised to discover it's new. It was released this year, by Tatsunoko, who brought us marvelous shows like Macross (the original), Gatchaman, and Speed Racer, to name a few of their more popular anime.

I was thrilled to discover it's part of an OAV that's not finished yet, which explains the abrupt ending that I already have theories about. It's supposed to be either two or three parts. I can't wait until the next part comes out.

Then I watched the remainer of The Birds that was on another station, though I think the colorized version makes it more hokey. Still, it's one of those flicks I grew up with and enjoy watching.

I wanted to write and edit last night, but brain was busy working so I read through an old novel that I'd started instead. I really love that one, but it comes so much later in my series, that I'd let it go for now.

Last night, my brain seized on it, though, and proceeded to show me wondrous images of scenes and tell me how I should plot it out...now that I'm a plotting person. Back then, I started with scenes that inspired me and left me with a feel for how the novel should proceed.

And, while that probably seems pointless since I don't have time to work on it right now, it's really a very good thing because it actually gave me some inspiration for the current novel I'm editing. Not actual plot information because I'm happy with the plot of the novel, but more inspiration on style and word choices and flow. What needs to be beefed up for the world to be satisfying, what flows too fast, what's good the way it is.

So, I hope today will be a productive day of editing. I'm going to try to pace myself and not push myself too much. I'll be happy if I get through one of the three chapters and then I'd like to do some screenplay editing and plotting on the one I need to get finished.

Plotting might happen at breakfast because I have some ideas at hand.

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Happy Holidays!
