Can you believe it's almost the end of the year???

Have you finished your holiday preparations?

Have you thought about your New Year's goals?

I haven't even starting Christmas shopping. I'm going to the mall with my daughter and some of her friends Saturday and hope to get a start then.

I've kinda shied away from thinking about goals for next year yet. Not sure why. I'm sure they'll hit me soon.

One day at a time right now.

Today, I shall read more submissions to OWW. Already have them printed out. Maybe I'll even get a chance to write some reviews at lunch or tonight.

Going to read more.

Going to make notes on the scenes that have been developing in my mind.

Might even revise some if my tired brain is feeling up to it.

You folks got anything exciting going on?

I'm only focusing on one New Year's Goal -- the 1st week of the year I can take off as many days as I want and I am going to hit the notebooks and PC hard and write at least two short stories. If I can do that I hope the impetus will carry over the rest of the year.

Year-length goals are always hard to make. I think it's because we change so much during a year and so our goals change too. I'm thinking I might just start a "Things I Have Yet to Accomplish" list and go from there.

That's a really good point.

When I make goals, I try to look at them on a monthly, or quarterly, basis and adjust them based on what has happened, what I've accomplished, and what my new goals are.

As of last night, I've bought all but one Christmas present -- and that last person may well end up with a re-gift of some sort. About 85% of presents have been wrapped, although I haven't added the yarn bows yet.

Not really bothering with decorations much this year, but I did pull out my wooden-sparkly-snowflake-shaped wreath, and will probably get around to hanging it on the front door before Christmas.

Most of my goals are focused around cutting away the dead wood in my life -- getting rid of stuff I don't need (someone came by and picked up 50 videos last night, for example), and spending more time on the parts of life that really matter. Including writing, which means I might even haul myself back onto OWW come the new year. :D

Congratulations on being just about done with your Christmas shopping. That's a HUGE accomplishment. For me, it always seems like there are obstacles to getting it done.

Your wreath sounds beautiful. We haven't decorated, but hope to get a Christmas tree today or tomorrow and get it decorated.

Streamlining life is a great thing.

Hey, when you get back to OWW, let me know when you post something, okay? I'd love to read. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things over there and have done a couple of reviews over the past week.
