Ouch!

Kitty Malik bit me last night. Not quite sure what got into him, but he got upset and he bit me on the chin.

OMG, there was blood EVERYWHERE.

He got me good.

I thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room for stitches, but I ended up not having enough money for the co-payment (have I mentioned I hate getting paid twice a month?) cause I don't get paid until tomorrow, so I settled for staying up half the night with a wash cloth on it.

It's still bleeding this morning, but not gangbusters like last night.

It's been cleaned and medicated and covered with a clean antibiotic Band-aid, but it's kinda ouchie.

However, as long as I keep it clean (cause I hear animal bites get infected easily), I'm sure I'll live.

I might have it checked at the doctor when I get paid tomorrow if it still looks this bad then.

Onward and upward.

I need to go to bed early tonight. :)

And, yes, baby Malik and I still love each other.

Please take double-plus good care of this one. Cat bites are especially prone to infection.

Youch! I'm sure you're going to anyway, but watch that wound carefully lest it takes a turn for the worse. :\

Goodness. My Loki (RIP) bit me once so hard I had a dark purple bruise the size of an apple, and my mom once accidentally got her old office cat's tail stuck in something and had to go to the doctor's. Cat bites do get infected easily, so keep a close eye on it.

Yikes! Hope you don't get an infection. Makes me glad I live in Canada, where I don't have to worry about co-payments and such.

Owie! Bad kitty!

have I mentioned I hate getting paid twice a month?)

Girl, I get paid once a month! Talk about a sucky system!

Wow, it always shocks me when I read that you needed medical treatment, but couldn't get it because it's only available to people who can pay. Damn them.

I'm glad Malik's back to being a loving kitty, but that must seriously have hurt. *hugs*

Families are allowed to fight, just so long as they don't forget this.

Ouch............

I'm just a lurker who seldom comments--but I have to say, I'm worried about that cat bite. This spring, our cat was alarmed by a guest's dog and bit my finger and hand pretty severely. I washed it, put on antiseptic ointment and ice. Nevertheless, by the next day it was alarmingly swollen, red and painful. An emergency call to the doctor's answering service--it was the weekend, of course--produced an almost instant callback, which is unusual. The doctor IMMEDIATELY ordered a prescription for a powerful antibiotic and urged me to fill it right away. She said she often has to put people with cat bites on IV antibiotics, because the bacteria tend to be so virulent. In my case, the pills knocked the infection down right away, so I didn't have to go in and get the IV. Please call a doctor as soon as you can--it can get bad fast. I'm especially concerned because it's on your face. Not trying to boss you around--just filling my role as long-time mother and busybody. : )
