Change of Plans

So, the duck didn't thaw enough to cook it today. I mean, yeah, I could run it under cold water, but it's not like I don't have something else good to cook.

So, duck is going on hold until Sunday.

Tonight, we're going to have:

seasoned pork chops
stuffing
mashed potatoes/baked potatoes (oldest son likes baked better than mashed)
rolls
green peas/lima beans (kids won't eat lima beans with me)
apple pie
sugar free French vanilla ice cream

Yummy.

I probably won't start dinner until around 4:30. It's quiet and I'm alone in this room, so I'm going to write some more before we eat.

I think I might hit the video games later. :)

Actually, the best method I've found for defrosting something is to stick it in a ziploc bag and put it in a sink full of cold water. I'm always surprised how fast it works.
