Sunday Morning Reminder

Don't forget to back up.

You never know when your computer might crash.

I watched one crash at work this past week.

Needless to say, I backed up my computer onto my flash drive this morning.

I'm also going to take this back-up and save it onto my laptop.

Never hurts to have multiple copies.

(And, yes, I'm also one of these people that sends final rough draft files and files with substantial progress to my g-mail account.)

I back my files up in gmail. That way, I can easily get them from any PC. :)

I do that, too, but I also keep copies on my laptop and my flash drive in case anything happens to my internet access.

Usually, if my PC is screwed, my internet access is also gone. But that's what my work PC or if needed, hubby's or a friend's or even the library's public PCs can be used for, to get my files! But yeah, I also back up on something external. But I started with the email option before there were flash cards/memory sticks, so it's natural to me now.

I thought I was the only one who emailed files to myself as an extra backup! Appears everyone does it. Cool!

Yes yes and yes on backing up. I need to get a second flash drive, I have too much important stuff for the 1 gig one I currently have. I need to burn some of the photos off to CD and yank them off the flash drive to free up some room. Cuz the Word docs don't take much space, but all the Webpage backup sure does!

What I hate is when you're writing, forget to save and the power goes out or something....sigh....

I once lost 100+ pages of background information alone, 1/3 of a novel, AND an entire screenplay.

So now? Now it goes into gmail. And I have a portable storage device as well.
