One day at a time right now, with the goals, until I finish the screenwriting class on the 22nd.

LOTS of writing to do and some revising to be thrown into the next two weeks as well.

By tomorrow night, I need to have FIFTY pages written. Even though we're not using the standard screenplay format in this class (we're writing by rising action instead of three acts), I notice that natural act breaks are pretty much falling into place.

By the end of the next 50 pages, I'll be roughly at the end of Act 3, the lowest point in the screenplay for the protagonist.

After that, I still have another 30 pages to get written, as well as the revising that accompanies the last 90 pages of the screenplay.

I've started to stress, which means I have to break this down into manageable goals.

Normally, I write pretty quickly...unless stress takes over.

The stress comes from the fact that the first 28 pages of my screenplay were quite well-received, so I have now placed unreasonable expectations on myself for the remainder of the screenplay.

I don't think I've ever written such a clean rough draft (novel or screenplay either one), so I feel the need to continue thusly...which, of course, is a stupid thing since it's placing so much pressure on me.

I should just do the best that I can and revise. There's nothing at all wrong with that method. It's how I generally write.

Though I have to admit that I've been more than pleased to discover that I can do better than I'd ever imagined.

Anyway...

Goal for today is a reasonable 15 pages. I hope to break those down into 5 pages during lunch and the other 10 at home. (Though, naturally, youngest son has a color guard for the school football game tonight, which means going back out to pick him up around 7:30.)

If I can get 15 pages down today, that's only 35 more for tomorrow. I can do 5 at breakfast and go out for an afternoon tea to get another 5 done (I work better out, when I can manage it.) So, 25 to do the remainder of the day.

My estimate is that it's only a total of about 11,000 words, so if I can just ease up on my expectations of myself and write, it won't be a problem.

However, knowing that the instructor and 30+ people are going to read it kind of ups those expectations of myself!
