Still Hot Enough to Melt Chocolate
Jul. 27th, 2006 05:26 amAnd, it's not quite 5:30 in the morning.
Kitty Kero woke me up at 4:30 with a loud meow in my face. I don't know if he just wanted attention or if he thought he was the alarm clock, but it was way too hot to go back to sleep and I finally got up around 4:50.
Going to head out to breakfast at 6:00 just to have some air conditioning. I wish the new owners of our apartments (soon to be condos) would get off their butts and service the freaking air conditioners.
Argh!
Well, I'll go eat and tackle the assignment that I was supposed to turn in to go over in class tonight, but never turned in. (I told the teacher it wasn't ready and he gave me the option of turning in what I had or waiting...I decided to see what I can get done today.)
It's really difficult coming up with a completely new story using the same logline and several of the same characters in just a couple of days. A COMPLETE story, I should say.
I had some ideas kicking around when I realized I was going to have to change it. (He told me to take out two elements which made two more un-workable, which made another one not work, so my entire story in place unraveled.)
But, to develop it completely into scenes in a couple of days has been really stressful, so I haven't risen to the occasion.
I also haven't written on my novels (which makes me unhappy) because I'm dealing with story issues and the like.
Not to mention that my head hurts constantly from the sinus infection.
So, the other night, I had a good night of SUCK. I guess it was Tuesday.
My kids let me tell them (every few minutes sometimes) how much my story sucked, how much my writing sucked, how much I sucked, and then we laughed and laughed and last night, my oldest read through my story so far and listened to me blather on about what I could do, and what I couldn't do, and what might work and what might not work.
He's a good son that way. :)
So, maybe I'll have this developed in a couple of days. At this point, I'll be happy even for something rough.
Wish me luck.
Off to get ready for work (and breakfast)!
