::cue singing and Staples' ads::

I love "Back to School" time because Staples has such AWESOME deals on office supplies, and OMG, I am such an office supply whore!

I needed pens (my favorite black pen of preference for general writing is Pilot Precise P-500 needle point) and highlighters (yellow Z4 Briteliner Grip...and YES, I do mark in books, thank you very much), so I stopped at one near work on the way home.

OMG...back to school sale in full swing!!!

My favoritest notebooks, the ones I use for all my plotting and writing and note-taking were on sale. FIVE STAR 5 subject notebooks. Those suckers usually go for about $9...on sale now for $4.99. ::shudders with pleasure::

They have regular, college-ruled spirals (wouldn't get caught dead with wide ruled) on sale in packs of 6 for $1.49. Quad-ruled pads (4 squares per inch on front and 5 squares per inch on back) were $1.00. (I use them for laying out scenes, BTW. And developing floorplans for buildings. And--here's the hardest part--laying out cities and ruins.)

And, wonderful, clear, acrylic rulers were only $1.00, too. Good for developing the buildings, cities, and ruins. :)

I am in, like, office supply heaven.

And, yes, I know you folks think I'm stupid, but, you know what? It makes me more productive. I already have big plans for plotting tomorrow.

But...eeek...I have three assignments I have to finish getting ready for the class that starts on Monday. Have to e-mail them to the instructor tomorrow.

Better get to work!!!

I am such an office supply whore!

I thought I was the only one. You don't know how happy you've made me.

I don't think it's stupid; I feel the same way. Lately, with traveling, it's been luggage stores and organizational gadgets. But I go into similar raptures over staplers and color coordinated sticky notes and piles of clean paper.

God, if only other people knew the sheer nirvana of putting together the perfect manuscript filing system... and manila folder labelling (don't write on them like some kind of hack) and binders, binders, binders...

although I almost never write longhand anymore so my office supply geekiness only extends so far but I know the feeling. Seeing a notebook and thinking "I just know I'm going to be away from the powerbook and I'm gonna need to write something down and just taking papers out of the recycling bin from work is starting to get messy and piling up"

Oh, I forgot to mention... not that it makes me more productive.

Actually.......

I just wish they'd start the sales later. I feel like I just finished with school.

good luck with your class!

I love office supplies also. I used to go visit the office supply section, just to look.

But now I view those back-to-school sales with a very different sort of pleasure.

I love walking down the aisles at a place like Staples or Office Depot. My inner writer geeks out over all the pens and paper and pretty things like staple removers.

LOL. I thought I was the only one. I remember when I was younger I'd beg my parents to buy me new pens and notebooks and such, and now if I want to keep my money I have to avoid the aisles whenever I'm not specifically shopping for them (which I never really am).

And I wouldn't be caught dead with a wide-ruled notebook, either.

Dude, I'd forgotten about that! I love the back to school stationary sales. It doesn't feel like the beginning of a new uni year until I've bought all manner of unnecessary yet shiny items for my stationary tower!
