I want to write while it's cool and my apartment isn't an oven.

But, one must work to pay the bills.

Don't get me wrong...I LOVE my new job. I LOVE the people I work with. Today will be the end of my second week and sometimes, I feel like I've been there forever. It just feels RIGHT, you know? I can't complain.

And, of course, you haven't heard me complain...which is probably a relief after all my complaining about the old and difficult job.

I am, however, exhausted when I get home. Partially from the heat and partially because the work is intense right now. We have two-day month-end close, inventory in July, July month-end at the same time as inventory, and system conversion from MAPICS to SAP.

So, there's a lot to be done and I'm tired...but I still LOVE it.

It just makes writing and things a little more difficult until I really get into the swing of the new routine.

I'm going to TRY to hit that last 3,635 (I think that was the number) words today to make my goal for the month. It seems a little far to reach, but...

I have a measley 400 words this morning. That's a start.

If I can manage 600 at lunchtime, on paper, maybe I'll have a chance.

Just...

Maybe. :)

starting a new job, even a much better one, is stressful. you've got so much to adapt to even if it all seems familiar. good stress is just as tiring as bad stress. :)

yay for your having good stress instead of bad!

I am SOOOO glad the new job is working out for you. yay, yay, and yay! What time do you get up in the morning that you can get some words in BEFORE you go to work? I'm envious!

I completely agree. Sometimes it's hard to escape the feeling that all the little things that make up our day - jobs included - are only getting in the way of our real jobs, which is to write.

The most writing I ever got done in my life was when the plant I worked for shut down and we were all laid off. For six weeks I wrote every morning, all morning. It was great. In a perfect world, I would only work part-time, and allot myself half the day to write.

Alas, that will never happen.

I understand--I'm still adjusting. And I LOVE my new place. As least, as much as I can love it and not be writing full-time ;)

Of course, we switched places when it comes to commutes. LoL The actual lack of time on my part hasn't helped, but I don't think that's all of it.

I will prevail! And so will you :) It'll just take time.
