July NaNo Groups
Jun. 29th, 2006 05:30 amI keep seeing posts of July NaNo-type groups all over the place, so I was curious...
How many of you are going to participate in one (or more) of these groups?
Are you going to do the traditional NaNo 50,000 words? Or have you set different goals for yourself?
Do you usually participate in NaNo in November?
If so, have you ever finished/polished/queried/submitted your NaNo novel?
Are you plotting for your July exercise, if you're involved in one? What kind of story are you writing?
July is sneaking up on us!
Good luck to everyone taking up the challenge.

Date: 2006-06-29 12:48 pm (UTC)My goal is 30-50k on an existing novel.
Yes, I usually do NaNo in November with an new project. I dropped out last year because of a request on a manuscript, but that's the first year since 2002 I didn't participate and "win".
I have finished and polished my NaNo novels, but they haven't yet been submitted. This is primarily due to my editing/submitting schedule, rather than quality issues, since I generally write at a NaNo speed all year anyway. (I know, when what's the point? Because it's FUN to do it as a group ;))
Urban fantasy. And I have an outline, but, per normal, it's subject to change.

I think for July... I'll do a redemption story... an assasin seeks redemption...
hmm
*wanders off to start scribbling ideas down*

Date: 2006-06-30 02:32 am (UTC)I've tried to do NaNo before - we'll see how this November goes, but if work is as busy as it was last year, I probably will only last 10k, like last year.
I'm taking July and writing at least 50K on Dark Moon Seasons, the sequel to Not Your Father's Horseman. I have an outline that will probably change in the next few days....
