Okay, well, maybe it's not NOTHING, but it's not my usual routine, so it's more...nothing...than I'm used to.

(Did that make any sense at all?)

I'm considering whacking down my June writing goal to something small and just getting screenplay submissions ready to go, doing my queries for the week, and doing a lot of "nothing" while I get used to the new job.

I'd really like to get rested and relaxed and then tackle a monumental-type goal in July to get myself back into the real swing of writing. I think, though, that my brain needs to be cleansed and my body revived before I'm ready for anything big again.

Which is okay. I can deal with that.

Yesterday was a great day, but I was totally exhausted by the end of it. Lots of uncharacteristic running around, which was good for me from the perspective that I'm trying to let go of the feeling that I must HOARD time.

I like to hope that'll go away as I get used to the new job, get home earlier (especially over the summer) and I can get back into a comfortable writing swing without stressing and trying to cram it into time I don't feel that I have.

But, anyway, yesterday, I had breakfast, like always. I did some writing on paper for Out of the Darkness during breakfast and tinkered with an idea for a scene in Celestial Warriors that had attacked me during my drive over to breakfast.

Since I'd gotten paid--including the few vacation days I had left--from old job, I hit Walmart for necessities and the grocery store for much needed things that were on sale because of Father's Day weekend...Coke products, hot dogs, hamburger meat...at reasonable prices seldom seen in this decade.

I even went to the bookstore and picked up a couple of magazines I hadn't purchased in FOREVER...Creative Screenwriting and Scr(i)pt. Also bought a copy of Realms of Fantasy.

I found an absolutely AMAZING manga drawing book. The Monster Book of Manga: Draw Like the Experts. It's HUGE and has details for drawing almost anything I could ever want to draw. So, I bought myself that as a congratulatory present for leaving the old job, along with two Jim Butcher books I hadn't been able to afford recently. (Thank you vacation days and bonus I'll be getting from old company next week...it's only $100, but it makes a difference.)

After being hit in May by car insurance, car registration, mailbox rental renewal, and a host of other annual/semi-annual charges, and running out of money and many other things over the course of the last week of the two weeks between paychecks, I'm hoarding food and toilet paper and all sorts of things like crazy.

Guess it's pathetic, but at least they're items I'll use. :)

My oldest son got paid, too. He doesn't make much money and only gets paid twice per school year, but he's so great to chip in and help with bills and things. He offered to buy me a TV to replace my one that crapped out two weeks ago, but I don't feel comfortable enough about that expenditure yet. Maybe next week when my bonus comes.

At the new job, I'll only be paid twice per month, so I'm hoarding money until I get into the swing of that.

Do we see a hoarding tendency developing here? It's probably NOT a good thing as it harkens back to the days that I was married, but I think I'll be over it within the next day or two, so I'm not stressing it right now.

We took two of the guys from youngest son's high school out to lunch with us yesterday. Very nice young men. HILARIOUS fellows. We had a GREAT time. Oldest son picked up the tab. Nice surprise.

Youngest went to one of the guys' house afterwards to play marathon Risk. Other two kids and I did MORE grocery shopping (freezable stuff like hamburger meat and hot dogs for daughter's birthday BBQ in a couple of weeks) and came home.

I e-mailed my sister until time to pick youngest up. Oldest went with me and we picked up some homemade Mexican food on the way home. Lots left over for lunch today.

I wrote last night--611 words now that I go back and count this morning--but was too lazy to post progress, so I'm including it with what I write today. It was the idea that attacked me on the way to Coco's yesterday morning and I hope it turns out well.

And, YAY ME, I actually went to bed at a fairly decent time. Common sense, wow, what a concept.

Today, I'm going to write more and brainstorm more for my writing. And, try to put together some synopses and a plan for a new project that I want to try to sell to an American manga/manga novel company.

Also going to take a look at a screenplay that I want to send out (to the company where I get to send an actual screenplay instead of a query). It has to be out by the 24th, next Saturday.

I thought I'd decided for sure to send Cereal Killer, but now I'm wondering if I should send I Sold My Soul to Santa instead.

Oldest and I might go pick up a Round Table pizza (and split the cost) for dinner.

I wanted to go to Disneyland today, since it's the last time I can go (until late August) before cheap season pass blackout, but it's been so HOT lately that I didn't think it would be fun.

Other than that, I might play more Dragon Quest 8. I'm enjoying that game LOTS.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all you dads out there.

What...what is this? This is like common sense!

Who are you and what have you done with my sister? ::glares suspiciously::
