queenoftheskiesNormally, that sound does NOT come out of me. You won't hear it often.
But, you do hear it tonight cause I'm very excited.
Tonight, I participated in an online screenwriting seminar involving a manger from Benderspink. He used to be an agent with William Morris.
At the end of the class, he agreed not only to take a query from each participant, but...
He's accepting an ACTUAL SCREENPLAY, plus TWO additional queries on top of that!!! If the logline accompanying the screenplay catches his attention, he'll read the screenplay.
This was the first time I'd participated in one of these series in a while and it was great to be back. It was a very relaxing and positive experience and I managed to write on one of my novels while taking notes.
Great night. Helped me forget about crazy boss and some really tacky things she did today.

And, new ones written. I have three new ideas that I'd like to get written. I have partial plotting done and hope to start work soon.

Date: 2006-05-24 12:09 pm (UTC)The problem is deciding whether I want to write a new one or edit something I already have. I have a couple of ideas I'd really like to work on.
I have 11 pitches due out by June 5, too. Just the pitches. So, if anyone requests any of those screenplays, I'd still probably have another month to get things polished up (though I have had requests come back in as little as a few days in the past).
From the current class I'm taking, I'll have at least two more queries, one for Disney and one for Marc Platt Productions. Those queries will undoubtedly be due by June 23 also, since they're in this same series, but the biggie is actually getting the screenplay ready to send to the manager!!!
Eeek!
Guess I'm jumping back in with both feet! Hope I swim instead of sink!
