Delightfully Unexpected

Oooooh, I love it when something unexpected and exciting happens. Especially when it comes from somewhere under your nose, somewhere you never expected it to be.

Today, I hung around after the play practice youngest son went to and talked to the drama teacher for about an hour or so.

Long story short: he has a talent agent. He thinks said talent agent would be willing to read my screenplays and perhaps even pitch them for me.

Said talent agent has successfully pitched a project and sold it to Disney. Said agent is currently pitching something to HBO.

He's talking about giving me her phone number and telling her I'll call or introducing me if she gets to attend the show next week. He thinks she's going to come to check out a couple of his seniors for possible representation.

I'm not quite ready for her to check out my material yet, though I want to meet her and make the contact.

I think it'll be another month before I'm ready to let anything out the door.

But...ooooh...networking is a great and wonderful thing. :)
