We made it! It's Friday!

What've you folks got planned for the weekend?

I think it's time for me to crash and burn. This was a TIRING week.

Everybody have a great day!

Tonight we hope to feed a few friends dinner. Tomorrow we're having lunch with [livejournal.com profile] timprov's parents and going to a wedding. And Sunday we're having lunch with my mom (my dad is out of town on business).

I'm going to the Swiss Animalia and otherwise I'll be hanging out with C and working on a painting. :)

Swiss Animalia? That sounds intriguing, so I must ask...what is it?

It's basically a dog and cat showing, but they usually also have other animals and some kind of entertainment, last year, apart from the showing they had poultry, rabbits, birds of prey, border collies herding lamas and piglets, service dog shows and dogs doing a flyball competition - and apart from the animals, there's of course lots of different junk food to munch and stalls to look at. :)

Oooooh, that sounds like so much fun. Are you going to tell all about it on your LJ? Pictures?

Hope you have a GREAT time!

I'll definitely tell about it on my lj and I'll try to bring the camera. :)

Crashing and burning sounds WONDERFUL! Is there room for me on the couch? :p

I'm going to get some writing done this weekend. Really. I am. :p

Yes, yes, I'll scoot over. Always room for crashers and burners. :)

Me too. Writing, that is. I'm going to. Definitely. No, no...what was that about famous last words? I really AM going to write...in spite of crashing and burning.

DH will be home and we are thinking of a bar-b-q. Writing and sleep.

Barbecuing sounds fun. What are you going to BBQ?

Writing and sleep are even better!

Me, I'll be seeing DaVinci Code tonight, then doing nothing the rest of the weekend (for teh first weekend in a month or so). Woot! How 'bout you?

From: [identity profile] queenoftheskies.livejournal.com
So, how did you like DaVinci Code? I'm curious after all the opinions I've heard of it. Had you read the book?

Hooray for doing nothing! Will you teach me how to do that? I think I forgot when I got old! :)

Me? Well...I SHOULD be resting. But, I really, really, REALLY want to write. Really.

This long commute has screwed up my schedule and made me EXHAUSTED all the time. And, well, my brain has been screwed up, too, and I guess I've been having self-esteem issues again. Maybe those are settling, so I want to get those word count meters cranking out progress again. :)

I've never read he book, but friends who had said the movie suffered from the same problem of no character depth whatsoever. It was alright... but had major issues with pacing and musical score (basically, it had to be much more intense for the chase scenes).

Also, it basically says (or at least I thought it did) that faith is more important than truth, and that kind of ticked me off.

TGIF.........

We've got another garage tomorrow, a piping competition in the afternoon, and then...with a bit of luck....nothing but writing! :(

Good luck with your garage sale. Do you have a lot of stuff you're trying to get rid of?

What's a piping competition? That sounds cool.

I hope you get your free time for writing. What are you working on now? How's it coming?

So glad you made it to the end of the week...how are you holding up?

I'm extremely weary. There was so much going on this week and the driving makes everything take so much longer. Hope to catch up some this weekend. And, then I'm taking a day off on my birthday next week, and there's the long weekend next weekend.

Surely there will be time to rest at least one of the days! :)

Well, I'm waiting for my next slush assignments...boy, that's an eye-opener!

CONGRATULATIONS, BTW. I just had a chance to really look at my FL tonight and saw your good news. Hip hip HOORAY for you.

And, I've got a short that I need to pound out this weekend and...well...I'm hanging out on LJ...that should give you a good idea of how it's going...:(

It's only bad if you're doing it cause you're blocked or having trouble. If you're just feeling social, it's a GOOD thing.

Good luck on getting the story finished.

Other than that, I'm in full-out editing mode on Songbird and Ashes...seems it's easier for me to edit when I'm stressed that get down new words.

Good luck with Songbird. Beautiful story. Any chance I could read Ashes at some point?

I can understand that stress makes new words difficult but creates nervous energy that can be used for editing.

Do you have markets picked out for them yet?

How about you?

Commuting has made me less productive, but I hope to finish writing the new opening to Out of the Darkness this weekend and then I could edit it, maybe starting over the long weekend.

Also hoping to work on a new super secret project (both novel and screenplay) this weekend, so I can query the screenplay soon. I'm excited about that.

Yay for taking time off! Are you really taking time off, or just time off from work?

Just from work. I never get anything done these days. I have so little time. So, I never feel like I can have complete down time. I always need to be doing the things I can't do because of the job.
