One Week to Go
May. 18th, 2006 05:14 amUntil some time off.
Hooray!
I'm taking next Thursday off, and I'm going to see if boss lady will let me have off Friday, too. Combined with the weekend, that would give me FIVE DAYS off in a row...if she says yes.
Almost like a real vacation.
AWESOME!
Even if I don't get Friday, I still have Thursday off and then the three-day weekend. I can't wait. Many things to do. Much writing to get done.
You folks got any plans yet for the three-day weekend? If you live in the U.S., that is.
I have to get back to work on those screenplays I want to query, write the query letters, finish the new beginning of Out of the Darkness and edit the rest, and work on what I started last night.
It's the final book in my regular series and while I've had ideas for it for a long time, and the vague concept of it for even LONGER, I got a sentence stuck in my mind yesterday--one line of dialogue along with the ghost of a scene for it--that just wouldn't wait to see the light of day.
My sister said it (and the lead-up to it) almost made her cry. I think that's one of the neatest things anyone has ever said to me about my writing. :)
It's really hard not to jump ahead to the end of the book and write when the world breaks, because I've had that scene in my head for a couple of years now. But, I want it to be just right. I also want it to be the last thing I write in this book.
Eeek, time to hit the road. Hope everyone has a GREAT day!
I have a LONG one. Got to go straight over to the high school after work (an almost two hour drive) and try to get there on time cause my youngest son is getting an award in an award ceremony.
Hope to be home by 8:30 tonight.
