Looking Forward to May

Hmm, considering how the past few months have gone, I don't think I should stress the goals.

I do hope to write 1,000 words every day.

I'd love to finish the new beginning for Out of the Darkness, so I can really get to work at revising it.

I'd like to continue work on Phantom Song.

That's about it.

I know this sounds off, but I'm kind of relieved to hear you admit this. I know I don't live your life, so I don't know everything about it, but watching you try to keep your goals up, up, up when your work day was getting longer and your stress levels higher sometimes got me very concerned.

I hope you don't have to settle for less than you want for too long, but 1000 words a days is 90,000 words in 3 months, or 4 novels a year--and by anyone's standards (except maybe you and me, but we're nuts :P) that's pretty prolific :D

You are a goddess of writing commitment. I'm wondering, with your commute, job, and kids, when do you find time to write or edit? This isn't a rhetorical question... it's something that I struggle with, and haven't yet found a solution that works for me.

Remember that Tolkien towers over his genre two generations after his death, and the only fantasy novels he ever finished for publication were The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Word count is not the only metric. Let yourself enjoy your writing.
