Complications
Mar. 30th, 2006 06:54 pmWell...things might not work out so perfectly for the new job after all.
But, it's really too early to tell.
The problem is that I'm getting not quite honest vibes from the potential employer now, which worries me considering I've been dealing with them from my current employer for some time. Makes me kind of leery, you know? Go with new dishonest vibes? Stay with old, familiar dishonst vibes? Not a great choice.
Yesterday, the plan was for me to go to lunch with the Controller to meet the president tomorrow and get the job offer there.
This morning, it changed to me going to lunch with the Controller to meet the rest of the accounting department. I wouldn't get the job offer there. That would come later. The HR lady would draw it up and send it to the agency who would send it to me.
Tonight, it's changed to needing a background check (which is standard...the company I work for now does them) first.
They still want me to take two hours off work tomorrow for lunch. And, they still want me to give them a day for free (take it off at the expense of my current job) next week to sit and discuss the cost accounting system with the person who created it.
So, I e-mailed the agency again and I explained to her that I already had to get dressed for the Tuesday interview at work and people saw me in make-up and a business suit (didn't tell her that part), that I took yesterday off for interviews. Now, two hours tomorrow and a day next week might just lose me my current job and I would be without income until the background check goes through.
Where I work now, it can take anywhere from one week to more for a background check to be completed.
So, I'm concerned.
No solution tonight, but we'll see what tomorrow brings.
