What a Great Place to Eat
Mar. 15th, 2006 09:19 pmWell, today started off like yesterday ended...not so good.
People really get me down sometimes. I don't understand meanness or hatred or why some people have to be right ALL the time...at the expense of others. And discount the opinions of others and criticize them for having opinions that differ from their own.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not naive. Of course I know that's the way the majority of the world is. But, it still gets me down when I have to deal with it face to face for any length of time. And, maybe it makes it worse that these people believe it's all okay. And that they're in the right.
So, while I was frustrated, I started a short story in my series universe. Sadly, I got interrupted and lost my forward momentum. Otherwise, I think I'd have finished it today.
Tonight, my most wonderful oldest son took us all out to dinner to celebrate our TEN YEARS (hooray!) of freedom.
We went to Joe's Crab Shack and not only had the most excellent of dinners, but a rousing good time as well. I can't remember the last time I laughed soooo much. I think the seafood was spiked. :)
I had lots of leftovers and will eat them tomorrow.
I'm tired, though. Ready for bed. And, glad tomorrow is Thursday. Hooray!

Do you realize the pressure and pain I go through being correct all the time. I mean, it's a nasty job, but somebody has to do it and I've taken it upon myself to be that person--correct, perfectly right, ALL the time.
Okay, even I couldn't keep a straight face on that one. Me? Right? When monkeys fly outta of .... [insert your favorite location here!]
Honestly, tho, there are some people that really need to be that way. Think of it as, sour grapes and they are envious of YOUR skills. If you don't, they will bring you down and, hey, that's what they're doing! No, don't listen to them. Bad vibes. Bad vibes.
You are a person. You have skills. You know better than they what you are wanting to express on the paper. Place yourself in a protective bubble of happiness that only allows you to see good things and only the best things you can hear.
Remember, you temper your best with those that would defeat you. G'luck
