Okay, so I know that may sounds strange to some of you, but in this instance, a rejection is a very, very GOOD thing...and one received with open arms. HAPPY open arms.

Because, you see, after I sent the query, something went off in my brain that said, "You can make this novel a million times better if you tweak the story here...and here."

That's good. Tweaks aren't bad.

THEN, when I started tweaking, I found more tweaking that would make it better until I finally had an OMG revelation and decided to make a big change in the plot itself.

I like the changes, and I really want to redo the novel with the new twists. Already started them, as a matter of fact.

So, I was quite pleased to receive this rejection and know that I can take the time I need to make it better than it was before.

When it's ready, I'll query it more.

I like the plot changes enough that I think I'm going to go back and see how the screenplay that the novel was taken from would work with the changes, too.

So...

HOORAY FOR REJECTIONS.

They can be a really good thing.

Not often one can say "Hooray for rejections." Congrats on two counts: sending the story out in the first place, and having a plotting revelation.
Happy revising!

Yay fro revelations, and for the strength of character to turn something negative positive.

Good luck with the newer, better version.
