No, it's not contagious, so don't worry.

It's the new opening for Wildfire. It needs editing, but I've finally got something I think I can like...and I'm very picky. But, at least I'm on the right track now and have a flow and some word choices that I can live with.

(If I say I'm pleased with it, I know there are people who will swoop down and burst my happy bubble and tell me if I like it I need to cut it (cause it's happened before)...but, when I like something, it means that I don't hate it and that I'm pleased with the way it fits into the work as a whole and that it's rough, but I think it can be polished into something nice. Not that I'm in love with myself as a writer and that I think I've written golden words. So, please don't burst my happy bubble cause, as a whole, I haven't been a very confident writer lately and I deserve this little moment of satisfaction. Thank you.)

YEA! Breakthroughs are great!

And don't let them burst your bubble. Trust your own instincts!

I hereby surround your bubble with a force field, such that no spoilsports can burst it. So there.

Hooray for liking the new opening!

[putting in more helium]
You go! If you like, who cares what others have to say? Really! I mean, there has to be others out there that would like the some of the same things as you.

Enjoy your moment... savor the satisfaction. Gloat, you deserve it.

Then tomorrow or the next day, go back with a more analytical eye and prove that you were right. [oops! a little slipped out!]

[handing another bubble]
You write to enjoy life. Enjoy your writing. Be more confident in what you place on the paper -- it's your world -- don't let others crap on/in it. Okay?

See, I'm of the opinion that you SHOULD like your writing, at least as you're writing it.

When you're editing, you can change your mind, but you should like it as you're writing it, at least.

So, yay! Good beginnings are so hard; it's wonderful to get one you like!

And, wow, I managed to repeat myself in the first two lines. This is why I should look at comments before I click send.

Hey. Thanks for friending me; it's been returned.

And many congrats on figuring out how to make your opening work. I admit to being a newbie in this instance: are you editing an old opening or creating a new one?
