To one and all.

These days, I pretty much live for Fridays!

Now, isn't THAT a sad state of affairs???

I'm thinking that it's probably because I didn't get the chance for a rest and recharge time off at the holidays like I was supposed to have. And, that maybe, once I get a couple of days off, I'll be better.

But, the way it stands now, Fridays are my second favorite day of the week! Only behind Saturday, of course, because it's just the greatest day ever. :)

Sundays are the third best, but I have to start gearing back up for work on Monday by the time I hit the afternoon/evening side of Sunday, so it's not quite as good as Friday, where the anticipation builds for the weekend.

I hope to break this cycle at some point. But, I think that requires a change in the type of job I work.

I'm not one of those people that thinks, if I ever "made it" with my writing that I could stay home and wear my jammies all day and be lazy. Nope. That's not me. And, since the word is that few people get to that stage, that's a good thing, isn't it?

Working actually makes me very productive. It forces me to compete with the lack of time to actually get anything accomplished. And, if I've had a very productive day at work, I often have a very productive writing day as well. Maybe that all sounds strange, but strange is me in a nutshell.

If I could ever make enough on my writing to warrant not working an accounting job, my job of preference would be teaching. I might even just substitute. I did that for five years and LOVED it. I love working with kids of all ages. It was so rewarding and very energizing for me.

I might actually go back and get my credential, though. Maybe. If I wasn't too old at the time.

Anybody else have a dream job they'd work if they could? Other than writing, that is, cause I think most of us who are writers here on LJ would love to be a glorious success at that. :)

Anybody got huge plans for the weekend?

My biggest plan is to try to work through some problems I'm having right now. I haven't been able to really talk about them and I've been feeling pretty alone, so I've found myself withdrawing into myself more. I don't think it's anything that's really visible to people--even people who know me well--though I think I've had a lot less LJ posts...not counting today. I think I have lots to say today. Of course, I think that other days, too, and then just never post...cause it doesn't really seem to matter.

Sometimes, I feel invisible. Other times, I feel very social. I'd really like to get this all worked out. I generally have a much more vibrant personality than this.

But, sometimes we have to get through the valleys to make it to the mountaintop.

I hope everyone has a HUGELY WONDERFUL Friday and an even BETTER weekend!!!

Dream jobs--yes. Opening a small record store with comfy chairs and headphones all around, small lit magazines to leaf through, nothing but cute guys coming in (wait, I hadn't thought of that last part till now--just a perk. It doesn't matter how old you get; they're still lovely if only to look at). As far as those problems you're working on, I hope there's someone you can talk to, if you can't talk here. Is it specific things, tangible enough to address quickly, or large issues that will take time? Hope everything works out for you.

And I hope you had a wonderful Friday and that your weekend ranks up there with the best of the best.

No real plans for the weekend - trying to work on this novella idea I've got, to bash it into shape.

Keep smiling!

Hi dear one!
If you want an ear to listen, I'm a good listener!
You don't have to carry it all alone.
::hugs:: Meg

If I wasn't writing, then I'd probably get my PhD in art history and try to get into archaeology or museum work/professorship.

But I would only do that if I gave up on writing for a living completely. I'm obsessive, so I *want* jobs that are my life and eat up my waking thoughts. It's one dream job or the other :D Because one probably means I won't have the time I also want with the other.

In reference to the dream jobs thing, I am doing my dream job, being a Midwife, but I don't make much money at it. so I work as a graphic artist too.
Fridays are goooooooood! The only thing I have concrete plans for is watching Stargate SG1 and Atlantis tonight.
I have a good friend I might see tomorrow, (today is her birthday) but that's still up in the air.
