Today, It Takes a Lot of Energy

I always go out of my way to try to be nice to people. I figure, I could be the only friendly face they see today, cause we never know what kinds of problems other people carry with them.

Now, I admit that some people are really hard to be nice to, but I try to smile and have something decent to say anyway.

I do not let people see me get upset or pissed off or frustrated.

That's not how I am.

I might rant about it in my LJ, but I never show it in person.

Today, I am being called upon to go out of my way to do things for other people and really, really turn on the charm to try to get things done for certain people.

These people are not agreeable folks and have pissed people off (the people that could help them correct their problems, of course) at the other office...where wisdom for correcting problems comes from.

And, I just realized that it is taking every ounce of energy I possess to be charming and witty and smiley and good-natured today.

I'm not in a pissy mood or anything. I'm just not in any mood and would rather go off somewhere and sit in the middle of a big forest or at the beach or somewhere I can be away from people and commune with nature.

I think I need that recharge. That green energy.

A river would be really nice. A river with lots of trees on either side. And no people. Animals are okay. A spiral or a laptop for writing would be nice, too...but I need a new battery for my laptop, so it's chained to the AC adapter at home right now.

I was raised by trees and near lakes and rivers. Sometimes, I miss them more than at other times.

And, sometimes, a long ramble is good for what ails ya, you know?

Yes, but aren't you glad that YOU got all the people skills, leaving me with none? Imagine if the universe had shared them equally between us.

I'm wishing you some big trees and a nice rock that is shaped just right to sit on. It seems there's a low energy crabby draining cloud or something over the world. Half of my writer's group has been sick within the last two weeks. I missed it last night, & then saw an email that made me think things got a bit too tense last night. Just seems like a forest vacation in a temperate zone all around is in order for everyone.
