Release the Hounds!
Jan. 31st, 2006 09:27 pmOr, in my case...
Release the Internal Editor!
That's what I did today.
And, you know what? She was a very agreeable soul. Played well with others, too.
And, for once, she made me feel very, very good about being a writer.
I think that means I'm growing. I kinda suspicioned that while I was working on Out of the Darkness. I learned sooo much as I was plotting and growing and writing this novel.
I wanted the Muse to come out and play today, but she called in sick since I kept her up writing late last night and insisted that we finish Out of the Darkness before we could go to bed.
So, this morning, I edited instead of wrote. And, I edited at breaks. And, I edited at lunch.
And, for the first time since I stopped querying screenplays, I made a submission.
Today, I submitted Spilt Milk to Glimmer Train.
Many thanks to
bachsoprano for all of her helpful suggestions and all the encouragement she offered and to
devinharris for reading when I was done.
I feel like I have accomplished soooo MUCH in two days. I feel like I've accomplished soooo much in one month. If 2006 continues to be this productive, I shall be most content when I reach the end of the year.
I dragged Muse out, kicking and screaming, tonight, so we have words. Not many, but better than nothing.
