Waiting For the Parade to Begin
Nov. 25th, 2004 08:10 amI love parades. I've always loved parades. Watched them every year on TV since I was a little girl in Nashville. My favorites have always been Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and The Tournament of Roses.
What's amazing is that I've lived in southern California for--whew--over 20 years now, and have never been to see the Tournament of Roses. I did, however, once work across from the Rose Palace, one of the larger places they assemble floats and put flowers on them. And, got to see some beautiful floats assembled.
And, for the past 5 years, I've worked next to an empty lot that is rented each year to the Tournament of Roses. They construct a HUGE make-shift structure each year, beginning around Halloween. And, when I go back to work tomorrow, I know they'll be delivering floats to it to have the flowers/natural materials put on.
It's a great sneak peek at about half a dozen floats every year and I really enjoy it.
Anyway...one of my favorite singers, Peter Cetera, formerly of Chicago, is performing an original Christmas song from his new Christmas CD today on the Fisher Price float, and I'm excited to watch that.
45 minutes to go...and counting.
But, until then, Philadelphia Experiment 2 is on. I thought the first movie was better, but this is tolerable for now.
Kitties are happy today. Mommy's home. Kero's curled up at my feet. Bakura sleeps curled on my pillow. Malik throws himself at the bedroom door cause Mommy won't let him in cause he whizzed on the bed. :)
Kids play video games, draw, sleep, and I write. Ahhhhh...nice restful day. I like restful days.

I have a Callie, a Sakura, and a Gabrielle in my lap. The Gabrielle purrs.
