For the Fire Record
Oct. 5th, 2005 05:40 pmI've lived in this area over 5 years and with all our woods and open areas, we have NEVER had fires before.
And, we have wildlife!!! I'm worried about the wildlife.
I've seen squirrels and chipmunks and skunks and rabbits and raccoons and oposums and coyotes and of course lizards and snakes and birds (including beautiful hawks) and such.
I want the animals to be okay.

Fortunately, our immediate area was not threatened since they got it put out. Whew!
I've been through several wildfires

Date: 2005-10-09 03:53 pm (UTC)Fortunately, since the fire was caught early (I actually think it might have been caused by a barbecing mishap in a housing tract near the wooded area), they actually got it put out before it caused massive damage or got to the point they had to evacuate.
Believe me, that was a HUGE relief.

Date: 2005-10-09 03:54 pm (UTC)We had them really bad here in the San Gabriel Valley!
They spread for so many miles and destroyed property and homes and animals. It was tragic.
