What Do You Write?

What genre?

Why did you pick that genre, and do you read the same?

Do you write your chosen genre in the "traditional" style of that genre?

Do you write in any variations of that genre?

What do you feel your writing (stories, style, unique method of storytelling) brings to that genre (if anything) that is new and fresh?

Is your genre difficult to break into? Do you feel yourself in competition with other writers? Do you feel that you hold your work up to (and that agents/publishers will hold your work up to) the standards set by masters/published writers in that genre?

Inquiring minds want to know. :)

It's After 10:00, So What the Heck Am I Doing Eating Quiche...

Good question.

And, it could be that it's FINALLY starting to cool down from the 104 degrees we hit today.

The heat makes me terribly unproductive and my bedroom air conditioner doesn't work well. It freezes up quickly. And, it's like pulling teeth to get the new apartment complex owners to maintenance ANYTHING!!!

So, here I sit, after 10:00, finally not dripping in sweat, eating quiche and sourdough bread. Mmmmm....

Oh, and writing. Well, adding a word here and there. I'm so tired that I think I've written about all I'm going to manage for the day.

Which makes me sad cause I'm close to my June goal...but not close enough.

Guess I'll just have to see what I can do over the next two days.

Wrote a logline for my July project today. (Yes, I write loglines for my novels too. It helps me focus.) Wrote part of a synopsis, too.

Must finish the synopsis and get plot points done by Saturday...or at least enough that I can start writing on Saturday, since it's July 1.

I have to work during the morning on Saturday, though, so I hope I don't get off to a slow start.
