It's the Waiting That Kills Me...
Sep. 25th, 2005 10:30 amOkay, so I remembered why I put off coloring my hair once I got started. I'd forgotten the worst evils about it, and had convinced myself it was a piece of cake.
NOTE TO SELF: If hair is longer than shoulder length, it becomes NOT SO MUCH FUN!!!
I permed my hair for so many years, that it lightened, so, in addition to coloring gray at the temples, coloring it is a struggle to get it near the original color (a really deep reddish brown) that I really loved.
And, of course, every time you die your hair, it grows out darker, so hence the vicious cycle of coloring.
Anyway...
This appears to be a nice color...as it "cooks" upon my head. (I have mirrored closet doors, so I look over periodically.)
But, I'm ready to be finished because I have other things I must do this morning...like recycle cans. I think I must have $30 in cans we've saved over the months...just for emergencies like not getting a paycheck. :)
However, at least I can write while I'm waiting, so I'm doing that.
Had to shut kitties out cause they all wanted to be held and mommy doesn't want to get icky, poisonous hair color on them. They cry at my door.
Poor kitties.
Off to write. I'm at a fun part where we're getting to a revelation. We're all going to be...gasp...shocked.

Date: 2005-09-25 08:11 pm (UTC)Note to self: Never dye long auburn hair dark brown by yourself. Not only did I get horizontal zebra stripes, I also had the color grab and go black. It was eeeeew all the way around.
That episode cured me of ever desiring to dye my own hair ever again (and that was like 17 years ago too!).
When the day comes (that day is creeping closer) for me to dye it again, I will kindly beg my hairdresser to do it (my hair is long)for me. I spent a fortune having the hairdresser destripe me.
