Nature's Fury Unleashed!!!
Sep. 20th, 2005 07:00 amNo subject line does justice to the THUNDERSTORM we had last night.
OMG, it was AMAZING!!!
I became aware of it while I was still asleep. Thunder at a distance and lots of glorious rain. Rain that lulls a person to sleep and helps them STAY there!
And, then, I grew aware of the flashes of light, until they were powerful enough to actually wake me up. By that time the thunder was right over our area and each BOOM rocked the building.
I can't remember the last time we had such a powerful, awe-inspiring storm. It lasted a long time. And, my poor scaredy kitty stayed hidden all night. :(
Of course, at the worst of it, my other two cats left the bedroom for parts of the apartment without windows. :)
This morning, I went hunting for Malik and FINALLY coaxed him out, even though my kids couldn't get him to come. He was still soooo afraid. I felt so bad for him.
There's the possibility of scattered thundershowers today. The clouds are still pretty thick and I think it's raining on the mountains. I can see them from my office window.
I hope we get more. And more. And more!!!
I love the rain and the thunder and the lightning! And, we're getting into California's rainy season in a couple of months. Hope it's an awesome one!
