Medication Resolution...Kind of
Sep. 15th, 2005 06:14 pmI called several different departments at Blue Shield today and they show no record yet of the insurance group number the HR lady gave me yesterday. The HR lady did not come up from Santa Ana today, so there was no questioning her.
My guess is that, since there are other people they're calling back on Monday, she lied to me about the policy going to the underwriter two days ago and that the paperwork won't actually be turned in until she signs the new people up.
I honestly think she lied because Blue Shield said they'd be able to find some trace of it if it was at the underwriter.
I bit the bullet, tightened my belt a little more, and paid the $100 for the prescriptions. My pharmacist said that IF I really do get an insurance card within a week (cause they said it sounds fishy too), they'll refund the difference between the $100 and my co-pay.
I love my pharmacy. They're GOOD people.
This, however, comes the day before my car has to go in for 60,000 mile maintenance, which costs $214.95. And, I have to rent a car for the day while it's at the shop. (I have to have the maintenance so I don't void my warranty. Plus, my car does need it. I drive a lot.)
So, it cheeses me off even more that the lady is so dishonest. I'll be glad when she goes back to Connecticut and we don't have to listen to her lies.
That means, though, that I might be liable for the doctor's visit the other day. And, I'm supposed to have a regular appointment on Monday with the new doctor. Might have to reschedule that, cause I can't afford to get hit with more charges.
But, at least I have my meds and I don't have to continue to worry from day to day over that.
Hooray for meds!

Yay for meds, though. I'm sure that's a load off your mind, even if it is very ouchy to the wallet.
