Day Four - Countdown to Insurance
Sep. 15th, 2005 05:36 amYesterday, it seems that an end was in sight.
Now...sigh...it looks like that end won't be until NEXT week.
Which makes for a very difficult situation. I have a prescription. I cannot buy meds, and the pharmacy was only willing to give me those two days worth of pills. They will give me nothing else until the insurance is in effect.
Yesterday, I did get a paper with a group number from the HR lady. But, I found out that she hadn't been honest about when she'd turned the paperwork in to the underwriter.
So, I have a group number for insurance that is NOT active.
The pharmacy MUST have an active group number AND an active ID number in order to process my prescription. I understand that. It's not their fault.
So, what is the HR lady's solution? She says I should pay the full price for the two meds out of my own pocket and then turn it in later for reimbusement.
Right, lady. I took a $17,000 cut in pay ($326 per week cut) so I could go out and spend $100 for meds out of my own pocket.
Sigh...
It doesn't seem like I'm asking so much, does it? Just some meds. I don't think I'm being unreasonable.
In the meantime, I have one metformin left to take this morning and two lotensin to take after today.

Date: 2005-09-15 12:55 pm (UTC)There are *always* plans by which medicines can be underwritten, and if the nurse doesn't know, you can ask her to leave the doctor a note asking him/her (the doctor) to call the drug rep.

Date: 2005-09-15 01:06 pm (UTC)It just makes me want to go shake her for you. People like that have jobs and could care less, when folks like us lose sleep trying to make sure ours gets done and others aren't affected in the ripple effect.
