What Sucks and What Does Not

queenoftheskiesI know I'm posting a lot today, but I've felt so out of touch with everything and everybody with all the real life crap that's been going on...it seems like forever.
I'm ready for things to be back on an even keel. I'm ready to have a life again. I'm ready to be a serious writer again...though I probably was able to hang on to that more than other aspects of my life.
What sucks is that I didn't get to be a stay at home writer for those days I had off. I didn't get to do all the writing and reviewing and reading and critiquing I'd hoped to do. I'd really been looking forward to that and reading material from OWW, QnI, Critters, and that individuals had sent me. But, you know how unkind real life can be sometimes. :)
What DOESN'T suck is that I have a job. Things seem to be calming down. I'll be able to get back into the swing of things gradually and I can still do the reading and writing and critiquing and reviewing...just starting out on a smaller scale than I'd wanted.
What DOESN'T suck is that I still managed to finish Ancient Secrets as planned in August.
What DOESN'T suck is that I'm getting back into the swing of things and still have a chance to finish Dawn of Destiny this month.
What DOESN'T suck is that I have Xanali basically ready to write. I have the synopsis all written and just have the detailed plotting to do. The story itself is complete.
What DOESN'T suck is that it's only two months until Thanksgiving, and there will be a four-day weekend there where I can be a stay-at-home writer.
And, even better...
What DOESN'T suck is that I'll have the ENTIRE week off between Christmas and New Year's!!! HOORAY! An entire week of stay-at-home writer!!!
Oh, and an extra added what DOESN'T suck is that I'll actually get to take a vacation if I want, after I've been here six months (I never had a week off in the 5-1/2 years I'd worked here under the old owner) and I'd like to do writer's conferences, workshops, and/or conventions next year.
How exciting!!!
