No, technically, I still don't have it.

BUT...

There are definite improvements in the situation.

Yesterday, the HR lady didn't have the proof she promised, but she suddenly decided that me being diabetic was a little more important than it had been before.

So, she gave me her cell phone number and said she'd make sure to get the group insurance number when she went back down to the other facility and that the doctor's office could call her to verify.

I went to walk-in/urgent care at the doctor's office. They didn't call her. They said if I was willing to sign a form stating that I had insurance in effect as of 9/6 and that I'd be resopnsible for the charge if anything fell through, they'd see me.

Cool. I did that.

Saw the walk-in doctor. I wanted her for my regular doctor, but she only handles walk-in. She's awesome. She gave me a 30 day prescription instead of just enough to last until Monday! Way to go!

However...there's always a however...

When I got to the pharmacy, they could NOT call the HR lady. They needed the group number AND ID number before they can process my prescription. Sigh...

HOWEVER...and this is a GOOD however...

My pharmacy rocks and they gave me two days worth of meds (yesterday and today), so I could hopefully get things worked out.

The latest story from the HR lady is that she waited until she had a straggler's form in and sent all the enrollment forms to the underwriter at once.

She now promises she's bringing proof of insurance up here today.

Excuse me if I don't hold my breath. :)

It's brilliant that you're finally getting your medication sorted :) It's disgusting that you had to wait though, it's like they don't realise how serious diabetes can be.

Your pharmacy sounds wonderful. At least they recognize how dangerous it is for you to go without meds. *hugs* Glad that you got to see the doc (and that things were good, per your following post!)
