We were promised our medical insurance would take affect the day we were officially hired. My official hire date was last Tuesday, September 6, 2005.

I explained to the Corporate HR lady (out here from CT) that it was important I obtain medical insurance in order to obtain prescription refills. (I didn't go into the gory details, as I don't think that's any of her business at this point.)

Every day last week, she told me they hadn't entered the medical insurance forms yet, that it would be the next day and that she'd bring me a proof of insurance. It did NOT happen. (And, by the end of the week, she was angry with me for asking.)

Friday, she told me it would be today. She's here. No proof of insurance.

The immediate medical insurance was one of the reasons I took such a HUGE pay cut. I needed medical insurance NOW.

Anticipating this (as she's flaky and I had no faith in her promises), I took only one metformin yesterday instead of the two I was supposed to take. That left me taking my final metformin this morning. I have NO more left. :(

I am trying to watch what I eat and eat every two hours to keep from having blood sugar spikes or lows. Small amounts. Not full meals.

My pharmacist, though, tells me that I'll still have a reaction when I stop taking them completely. Sigh. I've always been a good diabetic. This is frustrating to me.

I had lotensin to take this morning. I only take one per day. I have three left, so I'm okay there for a few more days.

I have more hydrochlorothyazide than Carter has little liver pills. (One of my grandmother's favorite expressions.) I only have to take 1/2 per day and yet, I normally got them refilled whenever I got the other two filled, so I have a couple bottles of those. No danger in that area.

Another issue, now, is my freaking hand. I don't have a lump today, but I have much swelling. Kind of like the lump spread out. Three fingers and thumb work well. Only my index finger has issues. However, the half of hand I hit has issues today. Hurts like hell all the way into my wrist.

Kids are good to be extra hand for me. :)

I could drive car with one hand.

Having trouble writing here at work cause it's my dominant hand that I hurt. Mousing is doable, but hurts. I can type with one hand...I'm used to doing that at home when I have a cat in one arm. :)

I'm guessing that, since I have so much movement in it, it's not broken, but had hoped to have it checked out just in case. Looks like that's not going to happen today.

Maybe there will be insurance tomorrow. :)

Oh, that just makes me want to fly out to shake her for you, when I think of how many *HOURS* I've spent on the phone (both working and home hours), yelling at the insurance company we use to make them fill prescriptions that are in our contract. And she can't manage to submit *forms*? Sheesh.

Hang in there and here's hoping they process them today. Too bad you can't manage a little pass out episode.
