It Feels Strange

To be working on something else. Takes some adjusting to. :)

I'm trying to write 2,500 words per day on Beyond the Darkness. At that rate, it would be finished by the end of September. I can't say that I feel comfortable with it yet. It was a finished novella...still in rough draft, of course...but finished.

Today, I combined it with a sequel I'd started for it, and I'm trying to expand the storyline to include both of them now.

I did some plotting this morning. Got one full new chapter plotted and part of a second.

Then, I had a few words that wanted to be added to a novel that comes further down the line, so I added those too.

I'm really too nervous about tomorrow to write anything else tonight, so I think I'm going to hit the sack. :)

Yes, definitely a whole new set of fears. I start very strong and confident, and then the insecurities of plotting and discovering the heart of the story set in.

In this case, since I'm novelizing Beyond the Darkness, it's a little different. I already have on entire storyline, what will now be the center of the story, in place. So, I need a larger frame in which to place it, and I think that will include a parallel plot with another character already in the story and a personal challenge she faces...which will be kind of fitting since she's the one to encourage Koji to face and overcome his.

What's really odd is that most of the characters in this story are in the novel I just finished. It's just that this takes place before Ancient Secrets, so everyone is at a different point in their lives (before certain shit hits the fan), so it's way different to write.

Ah...I ramble. Sorry.

I know you can write 2,500 words a day. That's actually a fairly reasonable amount if you know ahead of time what you want to work on. Right now, I'm not quite focused, but am working to get there. How about you?

I'm very nervous. It's very common for companies to replace the entire accounting/finance area when they buy a company. Even when they're nice people like these are. :)
