Nervous

The new owners of the company have called me.

They asked me to drive down to one of their other plants tomorrow to meet with the plant manager and the HR person. They want to discuss with me what I'm going to be doing when the company I worked for opens back up.

I'm extremely nervous because I have the feeling it won't be accounting any more. That could be good, of course, because it could mean less stress, but...

I can't help but feel that it casts me in a bad light since the old owner threw the company into such financial disarray and I was the Controller and couldn't stop it.

It'll be embarrassing, but at least I'll have a job and they're very nice people.

Good luck......

Thank you. I have to leave in about an hour and I'm trying not to think about it. (But, I'm still really nervous.)

Thanks.

I'm thankful to still have a job. Guess I'll find out today exactly what that job will be.

Good luck, Miss J. Perhaps it will be something unexpected but *good.*

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that everything goes smoothly.

Thanks. I'm hoping for good...or even for things to stay the way they were as far as positions go. But, that's because I'm comfortable in it, I know. And, of course, what I'm trained for.

It's not uncommon, though, even in friendly take-overs, to replace the entire accounting/finance department with the new company's own people.

Well... here's hoping that it didn't go down that way. I haven't read your LJ tonight, so before I pepper you with questions, I'll take a gander. :-)

I'll just say that I hope it went well for you.

It did go that way.

But, c'est la vie.

Eeeek! So what happened, Miss J?

Are you okay?

They did away with the accounting department completely. They're going to do all of the accounting functions down at one of their other southern California offices.

They offered me a different kind of job making MUCH less money. MUCH.

I was kinda shocked, but I'm probably okay. :)

I'm sure they know who caused the financial disaster, and also who kept the company running so long. You worked longer than anyone else when they were in crisis with the auction and such. I'm sure you'll have a good position with them. It wouldn't surprise me if you end up running things. Here's hoping for an enormous raise and promotion for you!

I did work longer than everyone else, but they didn't really see that aspect. They weren't in the picture when the company first died and I stayed until the end. And, they also were out of the picture the last couple of weeks when the Trustee took over completely and I worked for them.

I'm just nervous right now and hoping I won't be demoted too terribly if they bring their own accounting people in.

They are, however, extremely nice and I'm sure I'll enjoy working for them no matter what I do.
