I mentioned this briefly last night in my LJ post, but I didn't want to blab too much without asking Cat first if it was okay to mention her wonderful news.

I've wanted to welcome her to LJ for a while, too, but have been neglectful with everything going on in my life. Sorry, Cat, but I'm still thrilled you're here, and hope you get to know all the wonderful, kind, supportive writers I've met since I've been here.

So, WELCOME to [livejournal.com profile] bachsoprano!!! I met Cat on Quill N Ink. She's a lovely person and a very talented writer.

And, yesterday, after contending with a little bit of bad news, she got some WONDERFUL news. After having read several partials of her fantasy novel, an agent requested the entire manuscript!

So, heartiest CONGRATULATIONS to Cat, and best wishes!!! I hope the agent LOVES it. Good wishes and good energy going out to you.

Congrats to Cat! I'm not sure if we met on QandI, too, but I was there for awhile until I couldn't keep up with it. I hope it works out for you, sweetie!

Keith (my hubby) is at a writers' conference in Columbus today. He has pitched his thriller novel to an agent who now wants to see it. He also has an agent who is giving the entire novel another read to see if she wants to represent it. Please keep your fingers crossed for him, too!

Oooh, best of luck to Keith!!! Is this the novel he posted part of on QnI? Or, is it a different one?

Fingers are soooo crossed for him!!!

How is your writing going? I was so thrilled to hear about your contract with Llewellyn. (Did I spell that right? I always mess it up.)

Thanks for the crossed fingers for Keith. Yes, I believe he posted part of "Battery" on Q and I. It's the same one...we're going to get it published, damnit!

My writing is...sorta going. Now that the boys are back in school (during the week, anyway), I should have more time to finish the proposal for my next nonfiction book. Gads, I HATE the proposal-writing process. It's a big pain in the ass. But those are the hoops I must jump through, so that's what I do. I hope to have the proposal done and off to Llewellyn by the end of September. Then, maybe I can concentrate more on writing itself, rather than jumping through hoops. :-)

I just received a note from Llewellyn (yes, you spelled it right!) last week. I'd asked about a projected publication date for "So You Want to be a Medium?" and they told me they're shooting for May, 2006. Woo hoo! I got re-energized after I heard that!

Well, I'm sorry we didn't get to meet there, but it's nice to meet you here!

Best wishes with your book. A fantasy novel? That sounds really fun! I hope it all works out for you.

And we appreciate the positive thoughts for Keith!

You know, Keith has more of an elf affinity than me. I tend to be a big Aragorn fan. But I did love this character in the movie. I was a bit put out when he didn't make it.

But I love the icon even more because of the sentiment. I'm a huge cookie whore (which is why I don't keep any in the house--I'd be as big as one then!), and today, chocolate seems like the best invention ever.
