All I Can Do Now is Wait

queenoftheskiesWell, I rewrote my letter to the school district, based on all the advice I got. I toned it down, took out the aggressive stuff, and stuck to the straight facts. Sadly, I think it's too wimpy now, but I turned it in anyway.
The problem is that when I've tried to reason with them nicely in previous years (and I always try to reason nicely with everyone that I can), they've said no multiple times and I've had to appeal to LA County, which takes extra time.
However, since I have appealed to LA County before, I hope they'll read my letter and approve it without much more trouble (Not going to hold my breath, but I can hope.)
The big problem is that, in this day and age of technology, the secretary told me they do NOT keep records of previous years' transfer activity on site or in eletronic format either one. I found that kind of stupid. Means they probably won't be able to see that I've appealed before or any history of Mark's transfers.
Well, next in line is an appeal to the Superintendent, if this one fails, and then to LA County. The big problem is that each appeal can take one-two weeks...and school starts in the district I want Mark to attend on Monday. This local district is slow as Christmas with all of this and they don't care that school starts in the other district because they don't start until September 6.
However, letter is done and at the district, and I got a "receipt" for it to prove I left it, since I don't trust them.
And, now, all I can do is wait. So, I'm going to try to put it out of my mind and enjoy the next few days off.
Hope to hear from the new owners of the company tomorrow and find out what's going on so I can see how much time I have off and when I go back to work.
Ahhh...time off. At least one more day plus the weekend. That'll be nice. :)
