One Day Closer to Friday

Work itself was okay today. Got quite a bit done. Stayed a little late even though I didn't get paid for it just to give myself a good start for in the morning. They're going to give me a bonus for getting all this stuff done so quickly, so I don't mind 45 extra minutes.

However, I'm going to be working through Tuesday now, instead of Monday. Which means one less day off, but one more day of money, just in case anything else unexpected happens. I'll still have time to read write and review/critique. :)

The problem with the doctor's office really stressed me this afternoon. I called the doctor's office when I got home, and they left me on hold for 25 minutes, then came back to tell me they couldn't find the doctor OR her assistant OR the person handling refills while the regular refill nurse is on medical leave, so they'd have someone call me back.

Sigh...

Do you think they called back? No, of course not. That's the story of my relationship with this HORRIBLE doctor. As soon as I have insurance, I'm definitely finding a different doctor. Definitely.

So, I didn't write as much today. I'm very tired tonight.

But, I did write, and did get much closer to the end of my novel. I hit 900 pages That's frightening. Looks like I'm definitely going to have to turn this into two books. Yes, there's lots of writing to cut and tighten, but there are also descriptions to add and material to deepen.

Still, making progress. Hope to make TONS over the weekend.

I teach so I love summers. Plenty of time to write. I have to go back Sept. 5 and I'm depressed.

What age do you teach? I always wanted to teach. Subbed for a while and worked at a local school between accounting jobs. But, never went for a credential.

It must be wonderful getting to write all summer. But, you get time off during the year too, yes? Christmas and Spring Break?

I have an advanced degree in Chemistry so I teach the sciences. During the year, I teach ALOT so I'm very busy. I teach Chemistry, Physics, some AP classes, middle school science and AP Statistics. In all, I teach 7/8 periods per day and do labs on Fridays with the kids.

I do have time off for Christmas and Spring Break (2 weeks each). We also end rather early (in Mid-June) and start after Labor Day.

However, my administration likes to see us in during the summer to clean up the room, etc.

I do like teaching (have always liked it since grad school) and so that's how I got interested in it.

Actually, I had written fanfic way back in the early 90s before going to grad school. In grad school, I had no time for writing (was doing lab work 18 hours a day). Then, I got my teaching job and found that I had summers relatively free (well, except for taking care of my elderly parents). So, I was 'pulled back in' as they say and started writing again.

Doctors can be such a pain in the ass... Sorry that yours is giving you so much grief. I hope that can be worked out soon.

And an extra day of pay is a good thing! Here's hoping that it all gets resolved next week too.... Enjoy your time off though!!!

Well, I guess it's worked out. She said no. She won't give me refills. I have to do without. :(

Pay is good. But, things are not looking up for the auction. 11 bidders involved now, so less of a chance for the people we want to purchase the company.
