Sigh...

As if I needed another problem related to the company failing...

My doctor's office has refused to refill my blood pressure and blood sugar medications because they want me to come in for a visit NOW.

Of course, that didn't matter to them the two times they canceled my appointments earlier in the year (including as recently as May) because THE DOCTOR WANTED TO TAKE A DAY OFF!!!!!

So, I'm trying to explain to them that I have no insurance right now and that it's hard enough for me just to afford the dang medication without having to pay them for a doctor's visit and blood tests, too. And, that I should have insurance again in October, and can't they just give me two months worth of refills until then?

Do they care?

NO!!!

I'm ashamed.
And people that matter over here (UK) are considering swapping our health service for an insurance-based/privatised system.

No meds. She said she wouldn't refill them.

Sigh...

I'm sorry. :-(
Ironic how they don't care about the blood pressure rise they're giving you now.

She doesn't care at all.

She told me, yes, there would be side effects, but to just watch my diet.

In California at least and probably other states, you can go to your local community college, planned parenthood, or even medi-cal for temporary assistance for folks with no ins. but needs. (Planned parenthood has the least paperwork.)

Blood pressure medicine can kill you if you take the wrong dosage, so perhaps it's best to get an appointment if you can.

Sadly, I make too much money to qualify for any help. But, I can't afford the dr visit and blood tests because I just paid for my oldest son's college and books. Sigh...

I know how you feel.....

I have minimal health care in my RL job. And I only had catastrophic health insurance through grad school. I ended up paying for both my wisdom teeth extractions and for my own ultrasound.

good luck with everything

*hugs*
